It has been some time since I updated the Debian packages of a home machine. aptitude now insists on endless dependency resolution.
I left it running overnight. It got to about 230k dependencies, of which 170k were resolved. 14 conflicts. At some point something killed it. Now, is it in a loop and I should try forcing some key upgrades?
Then again, I probably brought it on myself by using the unstable distribution.
Update: I got a number of packages upgraded with ‘apt-get upgrade’ but 450 are currently on hold…
Update: ‘apt-get dist-upgrade’ is your friend. Case closed.
